HSS COMM TECH FILM FESTIVAL CIRCUIT-

Local | Regional | Global: Grade 9/10/11/12

“The idea of competition, particularly in a creative atmosphere, is always there; if you don’t acknowledge that, you are doing yourself and the process a disservice.”
—Jake Gyllenhaal

For 17 years, the HSS Comm Tech program has been inspiring young artists, creators and directors to engage and compete in the art of digital storytelling in a series of local, regional and global film festivals. Over the years our students have had the joy getting on a bus to go see their films played in real movie theaters including the Toronto Bloor Cinema, Bolton Landmark Cinema, the Vaughan RioCan Colossus Centre, The Bolton Public Library Theater and the Brampton Rose Theater. While the pandemic has limited the in person capacities of these movie theaters temporarily, plans are underway to bring back the Peel Student Film Festival and the Young Reels Film Festivals next year.  As the old saying goes: “the show must go on!”. Join our class, make a movie! Let your creative stories be seen on the big screen!
