Hold that pose! In this culminating photography and design activity students learn how to properly light and stage in a variety of different conditions using dslr cameras and our lighting studio. They learn how to incorporate their own photography into imaging and design software, work with type and become better visual communicators.

By the end of this activity students will demonstrate a deeper understanding of:

-introduction to photographic principles
– shooting their own cover photo with DSLR cameras
-studio lighting, tripods, green screens, studio safety
– vectoring masthead in Illustrator
– principles of magazine cover composition
– typographic composition
– alternate draft creation
– publishing graphic art to print and web using the Adobe Creative Suite
